Integrative Psychotherapy with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

In my practice, as a psychoterapist in Barcelona, I combine an integrative approach with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which allows me to more effectively support people facing a wide range of challenges – from anxiety and depression, through emotional or relationship crises, to the effects of trauma and difficult past experiences.

As an expat myself in Barcelona, I understand the unique challenges of living abroad – such as feelings of isolation, cultural adjustment, or navigating relationships far from familiar support systems. This perspective helps me connect with and support other expats through psychoterapy in English in Barcelona more effectively.

Integrative psychotherapy is an evidence-based approach that brings together methods from different therapeutic schools – such as psychodynamic, humanistic, systemic, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. This flexibility makes it possible to adapt the work to you – your needs, personality, pace, and goals.

I don’t rely on a single theory or rigid framework, because I believe every person is unique and deserves a tailored approach. At the heart of the process is the therapeutic relationship itself – safe, supportive, built on trust, empathy, and authentic connection.

What Makes My Approach Unique?
Flexibility and individualization
There is no single “recipe” for all difficulties. I adapt therapeutic methods to your needs. This is especially important for expats, whose personal histories and cultural backgrounds often influence how difficulties show up and how healing can happen.
Effectiveness
Drawing on different approaches makes it possible to choose the most effective methods for working with depression, anxiety, personality challenges, relationship difficulties, and many other issues.
A holistic perspective
In therapy I don’t only look at symptoms, but also at deeper causes, emotions, beliefs, relationships, and past experiences.
The therapeutic relationship
A safe, empathetic connection is at the heart of our work together. This relationship becomes the foundation for change.
Working with trauma and past experiences
Sometimes peace in the present is difficult because of unresolved painful events from the past. Using EMDR, we can process those experiences so that they no longer negatively impact your life today.
Integrative psychotherapy is not only about addressing problems – it is also a process of self-discovery, building inner coherence, and deepening your understanding of your own needs and emotions.
If you are looking for therapy that adapts to you – rather than the other way around – integrative psychotherapy may be a good fit.
